Mutual Fund, Main Investment or Alternative?

SURABAYA – July 29, 2022 - The development of the capital market in Indonesia in 2022 is quite impressive, the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market in June reached 9.1 million people. This indicates that investment is no longer a new thing in society. The transformation of people´s mindsets from those who only like to save to like to invest, in other words, people are now more educated about the world of capital markets.

The development of digitalization and information technology in Indonesia is also one of the things that most influence people to invest in the capital market. It is easier for the public to obtain information about investment, as well as making it easier for the community to choose the type of investment to be made.

Likewise with mutual funds, if seen from the development of mutual fund investors, it is quite good, because in June 2022 according to data from KSEI (Indonesian Central Securities Depository) the number of mutual fund investors amounted to 8.42 million people. But does this signify mutual funds as a primary investment or just an alternative?

In response to this, PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP) through MNC Asset Management (MNC AM) together with the IDX East Java Regional Representative Office held an Instagram Live (IG Live) on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 16.00 WIB.

Angelia Chandra, who hosted IG Live this time, said about the importance of investing early on. "Currently it seems that investment is starting to become a trend in society, because it is proven that more and more people are investing in the capital market, therefore we are quite happy to be able to collaborate with IDX East Java, where we will discuss quite a lot about the investment atmosphere in Indonesia, especially in East Java,” said Angelia.

In line with this, Dyan Fajar as Executive Trainer from IDX East Java Representative Office who will be a resource person at IG Live also said, "We who are directly involved in the Indonesian capital market are also happy with the increasing number of people who are aware of the importance of investment, by In other words, this also makes us even more excited to continue providing education and inclusion about the Indonesian capital market,” said Fajar.
